Dear Colleagues

The second meeting of the young European Federation of WPSA, founded in Rome during the spring of 1959, was held in Bologna in 1964. After 42 years it is a pleasure to invite you once again to Italy to the XII European Poultry Conference (EPC), which will be held in Verona from September 10 to 14, 2006.

Verona is a wonderful city located in the north-east of Italy. It provides a unique culture and centre of art. All around there are lakes, mountains, beaches and other cities of art attracting visitors from all over the world.
 
It is very easy to reach Verona by plane, train or car. The city, located in the largest poultry production area in Europe, offers a wide choice of very high quality facilities to ensure a  successful Conference.

The scientific programme of the XII European Poultry Conference has been developed in collaboration with the Chairmen of the Working Groups of the European federation of WPSA..  It will be focus on the main issues currently related to poultry research and production in order to add to and improve knowledge in a world where information and innovations are spread rapidly.

I am confident the Conference will represent a good opportunity to up date the knowledge on different poultry-related fields and also to address the future research projects in an economical climate characterised by continuous restrictions and in a sanitary situation that addresses all scientists to promote researches to prevent and control infectious diseases and to optimise the production system organization. Moreover, I hope that it will represent an opportunity to put together poultry researchers and technicians especially from European, Mediterranean and Middle East countries and from many other parts of the world. Verona is particularly suitable for hosting people coming from different countries and cultures but sharing a common interest for poultry science, beauty of art and good way of life.
